In Holland, girls competing on C-level have two individual competitions in their regio. The scores of both competitions are added together and in the end, the numbers 1 and 2 of each category go to the National C-level final. On Saterday December 20th, the first of these competitions for regio Noord-Holland was held in Kudelstaart. For Pax competed 15 gymnasts, and they won two gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
The competition started with the youngest girls of category 4C. All medals went to Pax in this category. 1st place was for Violette Kossen, silver went to Sophia Hodge and Marije Bouterse became third. Good prospects for the qualification for the final so far!
The competition in category 3C was ruled by Tina Anema from Omnia, who got over 17 points for her clubs where the other gymnasts didn't got higher then 13 or 14 points. Moniek ten Have won a bronze medal here, so she still has the chance to reach the final.
In the afternoon, category 2C, Pax had only one gymnast: Joanne van Drie. After two routines, Joanne was leading but
only with a difference of 0.150 with Natasja van Hees and 0.200 with Melissa Hendriks. The last routine, without apparatus,
would decide who would win. Joanne has a very cool routine without apparatus (on the music of Anna Pobokova ribbon) and she scored
15.700 points with it. This was enough to beat the others and with a difference of almost 1.5 points she won the gold medal.
This is only Joannes first year in this category, so it's surely a very good result.
The last competition was for the seniors of category 1C. Here Meghan Kenselaar, Vera van de Ven and Annelotte Vos competed for Pax.
Annelotte suffered a back injury already before the competition, so after one routine she had to give up and stop competing.
Meghan and Vera couldn't reach the medals, but still they did a good competition. They ended on a fifth and sixth place.
